Policy overview
Refund Policy
Chris German Shorthaired Pointer Pups believes every puppy placement should be handled with clear communication, honest expectations, and responsible decision-making. Bringing home a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy is an important commitment, and our refund policy is designed to help families understand how payments, deposits, cancellations, and puppy placement decisions are handled.
This policy exists to protect the buyer, the breeder, and most importantly, the puppy. German Shorthaired Pointer puppies require time, care, planning, veterinary attention, food, daily handling, and preparation before they are ready to leave for their new homes. Because each puppy is reserved for a specific family, payment decisions must be taken seriously.
Deposits and reservations
Deposits and Puppy Reservations
A deposit may be required to reserve a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy. Once a deposit is received and a puppy is placed on hold for a buyer, that puppy is no longer offered to other interested families. For this reason, deposits are generally considered non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
The deposit shows that the buyer is serious about moving forward and allows Chris German Shorthaired Pointer Pups to hold the selected puppy or placement position. Buyers should only send a deposit after they have asked questions, reviewed available information, and are confident they are ready to welcome a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy into their home.
If a buyer changes their mind, chooses not to move forward, fails to respond, or cannot receive the puppy as planned, the deposit may be forfeited. This is because time, communication, and placement opportunities may have already been committed to that buyer.
Final payments
Final Payments
Final payment is typically due before or when the puppy is released to the buyer, depending on the agreed arrangement. A puppy will not be released until payment terms have been completed as agreed in writing.
Once the puppy has gone home with the buyer, refunds are not provided simply because of a change in personal circumstances, lack of preparation, landlord restrictions, allergies, schedule changes, family disagreements, or the normal responsibilities of puppy ownership.
German Shorthaired Pointers are active, intelligent dogs that need training, structure, exercise, patience, and ongoing care. Buyers are expected to understand the needs of the breed before committing to a puppy.
Buyer cancellations
Cancellations by the Buyer
If a buyer cancels before receiving the puppy, any refund decision will depend on the timing, written agreement, and specific circumstances. Deposits are usually not refunded because the puppy was held for that buyer and may have been unavailable to other homes during that time.
In some cases, Chris German Shorthaired Pointer Pups may allow a deposit to be transferred to a future litter, but this is not guaranteed. Any transfer must be approved in writing and may depend on availability, timing, and the reason for cancellation.
Breeder cancellations
Cancellations by Chris German Shorthaired Pointer Pups
If we determine that a puppy should not be placed with a buyer, or if a puppy becomes unavailable due to health, safety, or placement concerns, we will communicate with the buyer as soon as possible. Depending on the situation, the buyer may be offered a refund, a different available puppy, or the option to wait for a future litter.
The health and welfare of each puppy will always be our priority. We reserve the right to delay or cancel a placement if we believe it is in the puppy's best interest.
Health-related concerns
Health-Related Concerns
Health-related concerns are handled according to the written health guarantee or puppy agreement provided with the puppy. Buyers are expected to schedule a veterinary exam soon after receiving the puppy and keep copies of veterinary records, receipts, and written findings.
If a serious health concern is identified by a licensed veterinarian, the buyer must contact Chris German Shorthaired Pointer Pups promptly and provide supporting documentation. Refunds, replacements, or other resolutions are not automatic and will depend on the written agreement, veterinary findings, and review of the records.
Travel and delivery costs
Travel and Delivery Costs
Shipping, delivery, transportation, crate fees, health certificates for travel, or related travel expenses are generally separate from the puppy purchase price. These costs are typically non-refundable once arrangements have been made or services have been completed.
If travel plans are changed by the buyer, additional costs may apply. Buyers should confirm all travel details before making final arrangements.
Safe payment practices
Safe Payment Practices
Buyers should never send payment through unsafe, rushed, or unverified channels. If anything about payment instructions, communication, or refund terms seems unclear, contact Chris German Shorthaired Pointer Pups directly before sending money.
Questions About This Policy
Questions about deposits, payments, cancellations, or refunds should be discussed before reserving a puppy. Clear communication helps prevent misunderstandings and supports a responsible placement process for every German Shorthaired Pointer puppy.
